Destiny Announces Mary Cone Barrie Scholarship

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) May 26, 2009 -- Destiny Solutions Inc., the leading provider of administration software for Continuing and Professional Education announced the renaming of the Destiny OneCE Scholarship to the Mary Cone Barrie Scholarship.

Dr. Mary Cone Barrie specialized in the art and science of teaching adults as the Director of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. Mary was committed to the community, learning and had a passion for the implications of technology on adult learners. "Dr. Mary Cone Barrie was an inspiration and mentor to Destiny Solutions, providing her vision and leadership during our first decade," said Shaul Kuper, CEO of Destiny Solutions. "Destiny is honored to present this scholarship in her name as recognition of her contribution to so many during her lifetime."

The Mary Cone Barrie Scholarship is distinctive because there are few scholarships devoted specifically to continuing education (or "non-traditional") students. Not all employers offer financial assistance and many students are between careers.

Destiny Solutions also announced that it has doubled its commitment to supporting continuing education by offering $2,500 scholarships to two qualified students seeking financial assistance while fulfilling their continuing education goals. "During these transformative times, continuing and professional education plays a significant role helping people achieve their dreams," continued Mr. Kuper. "Often, many are not able to advance due to economic circumstances and it is our hope that the Mary Cone Barrie Scholarship can help two exceptional people this way."

Margaux Wisniewski of Lawrenceville, New Jersey was the 2008 Scholarship Recipient. Mrs. Wisniewski attended the Rider University College of Continuing Studies in Lawrenceville, NJ, where she was in the final year of her degree. Her ultimate goal is to become a teacher so that she can better support her family while making a positive difference in the lives of her students.

"Destiny Solutions is absolutely wonderful for offering this scholarship to continuing education students and for helping out my family and I," said Margaux Wisniewski. "Other continuing education students get to see, through benevolent companies like Destiny Solutions, that no matter your age or financial status, pursue your passion."

The deadline to submit applications for the Destiny OneCE Scholarship is 5:00pm on July 31, 2009. Destiny Solutions Inc. will announce the scholarship winner in August. For application terms, visit www.DestinySolutions.com.
