Scholarship Applications are currently Being Accepted for the 19th Annual Heroes and Legends Foundation Scholarships

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) March 3, 2008 -- Applications are currently being accepted for the 2008 Scholarships awarded by the Heroes and Legends (HAL) Foundation. Each year scholarship honorees are selected from a diverse group of candidates who have earned a consistent grade point average of 2.0 or better and who exhibit an extraordinary amount of talent, drive and determination.

Founder Janie Bradford explains, "The HAL Foundation is devoted to helping talented young persons of the Southern California community achieve their dreams of careers in the performing arts, as well as spotlighting positive role models from many diverse backgrounds. HAL hopes that this scholarship will serve as an education extension program, and that awardees will one day be placed among tomorrow's Heroes and Legends of the performing arts community."

Scholarships are open to Southern California students, and are awarded for one term (i.e. semester, trimester, quarter, etc) at a community-based performing arts school in relation to their talents, with the tuition being paid directly to the educational facility. Qualified students can complete an application for The Heroes And Legends Scholarship by visiting the HAL website: www.halawards.com. Applications must be submitted by August 15, 2008.

The Heroes And Legends Scholarship Foundation was created by celebrated songwriter and Motown Alumna, Janie Bradford to aid "at risk" youth and to publicly recognize others who share her vision. The foundations goal is twofold: First, to help talented young people in the community realize their lofty but attainable dreams of shaping careers for themselves in one of the many performing arts. Secondly, HAL spotlights positive role models from many diverse backgrounds, including leaders in the fields of music, theatre, motion pictures and business each year at the annual HAL Awards and Scholarship Dinner. This year's gala will be held on Sunday, September 28th at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
